Erin Jefferson, DO, FAAFP; GMEC Chair; Consultant for Healthcare, Quality and PCMH

I was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. I then completed my undergraduate studies at Indiana University Bloomington where I received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry in 2007. After discovering my passion for medicine, I had the opportunity to attend Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, IL. Following medical school graduation in 2011, I moved back to Indiana to complete my residency at Fort Wayne Medical Education Program. During my time at the residency I served as both Curricular Co-Chief and Co-Chief resident and developed a love for academic medicine and mentorship. Upon completion of my residency training in 2014 I worked in both Whitley County and Allen County in clinical practice for five years. I am enthusiastic about returning to a teaching environment that will foster both clinical acumen and compassionate care.

I am very fortunate to have an incredibly supportive family and partner, Jared. We enjoy spending time with our rescue dog, Newman. We also enjoy world travel, gardening and artistic endeavors.
